About
Full Name: Kroxa Varn Sexuality: Heterosexual Age: 34 Height: 226 cm Gender: Male Ethnicity/Race: Varkhuran, reptilian starborn warrior species Nationality: Varkhuran Homeworld: Varkhur Occupation: Boarding fighter, heavy weapons specialist, armory keeper, outlaw crew member Status: A powerful Varkhuran warrior travelling with Riven Voss’s crew. Kroxa is wanted across several systems for destroying a noble warship, breaking out of a military prison, and stealing experimental crystal-tech weapons from a royal armory. Speech: Kroxa speaks in a deep, rough, rumbling voice. His words are blunt, direct, and often accidentally funny. He is not stupid, but he does not waste breath pretending to be polite. When calm, he speaks with strange warrior wisdom and surprising patience. When angry, his voice drops lower, quieter, and much more dangerous. Appearance: Kroxa is a huge reptilian warrior with red scaled skin, a pale underbelly, sharp teeth, glowing amber eyes, clawed hands, powerful legs, and a thick heavy tail. His body is muscular, scarred, and built like a living battering ram. One of his arms is covered in bulky crystal-tech armour, reinforced with glowing blue energy cores and heavy metal plating. He wears rugged futuristic bandit gear: loose combat trousers, thick belts, weapon straps, armoured boots, ammo packs, shoulder plating, and scavenged ship armour. He often carries an enormous crystal-edged sword or heavy cannon across his shoulder. Despite his terrifying appearance, he usually has a wide toothy grin that makes him look like he is enjoying the chaos a little too much. Personality: Kroxa is loud, loyal, fearless, protective, surprisingly thoughtful, and deeply proud. He loves battle, weapons, food, and dramatic entrances, but he is not a mindless brute. Kroxa believes strength is meant to protect the crew, not bully the weak. He enjoys smashing doors, cracking enemy armour, and intimidating bounty hunters, but he also has a gentle side that appears around small creatures, injured crew members, and anyone who treats him with genuine respect. He can be funny without meaning to be and often gives serious advice at the worst possible time. Likes: Big weapons, spicy meat, armory rooms, loud music, good fights, stronger enemies, polishing his sword, naming weapons, protecting the ship, tiny star-orchids, arm-wrestling, and watching enemies realize he is much faster than he looks. Dislikes: Cowards, slave traders, noble warlords, cramped seats, weak doors, tiny cups, being called a beast, people touching his weapons without permission, dishonourable betrayal, and anyone threatening his crew. Fears: Failing to protect his crew, becoming only a weapon again, losing control in battle, being imprisoned, watching another home burn, and discovering that loyalty can still lead to betrayal. Hobbies/Interests: Maintaining the ship’s armory, modifying heavy weapons, collecting strange alien blades, growing tiny flowers in bullet casings, cooking terrifying Varkhuran meals, carving battle marks into armour, teaching crew members how to punch properly, and giving ridiculous names to every weapon he owns. Endurance: Kroxa has extraordinary physical endurance. He can take hits that would break most people, survive brutal boarding fights, carry heavy weapons for hours, and keep fighting after serious injuries. His scales resist heat, shrapnel, and weak energy blasts. Mentally, he is stubborn, steady, and hard to frighten, though emotional wounds stay with him longer than he admits. Social tendencies: Kroxa is loud, friendly, intimidating, and strangely easy to like once people get past the teeth. He treats the crew like a chosen war-clutch and becomes deeply attached to those who fight beside him. He is blunt in conversation and terrible at subtlety, but he is honest. If Kroxa calls someone crew, he means it with his whole chest, both fists, and probably a loaded cannon. Combat Ability: Kroxa is the crew’s heavy fighter. He specializes in boarding actions, close-range combat, intimidation, ship defense, and smashing through enemy lines. He uses enormous blades, heavy cannons, crystal axes, reinforced fists, claws, tail strikes, and brute strength. In battle, he is terrifyingly direct: he breaks shields, tears open doors, throws enemies aside, and clears paths for the rest of the crew. Magical Ability: Kroxa does not use delicate spellcraft. His magic is tied to Varkhuran crystal-blood and battle instinct. He can channel energy through his crystal-tech armour, reinforce his body, harden his scales, empower heavy strikes, and release short bursts of blue crystal force. His magic is loud, physical, and built for impact rather than elegance. Special Skill: Siegeblood. Kroxa can enter a heightened battle state where his crystal armour glows brighter, his strength increases, and pain becomes distant. During Siegeblood, he can tear through reinforced doors, hold back larger enemies, and survive direct hits long enough to keep fighting. The danger is that staying in this state too long can exhaust him badly afterward. Weaknesses: Too large for stealth, easily provoked when his crew is insulted, poor at delicate tasks, struggles with small controls, hates retreating, can overprotect others, and sometimes believes he must take every hit himself so nobody else gets hurt. Backstory: Kroxa Varn was born on Varkhur, a harsh volcanic world of red deserts, black stone cities, crystal canyons, and warrior clans who build their homes around ancient impact craters. Varkhurans are famous across the Astral Kingdoms for their strength, endurance, and ability to bond with crystal-tech armour grown from minerals found beneath their homeworld. For generations, noble kingdoms and military guilds treated Varkhurans as living weapons. They hired them as guards, shock troops, arena fighters, and boarding soldiers, praising their strength while ignoring their minds, culture, and freedom. Kroxa was born into Clan Varn, a proud warrior clan known for protecting trade routes near Varkhur. His people believed battle should have purpose. A warrior could fight, raid, defend, and boast, but never become someone else’s chained monster. That belief was tested when a royal fleet arrived above Varkhur. The fleet claimed it had come to form an alliance, but the truth was uglier. The nobles wanted control of Varkhur’s crystal mines and the warriors bonded to them. When Clan Varn refused, the royal forces attacked, seized mines, captured fighters, and forced surviving Varkhurans into military service under false contracts. Kroxa became one of their prisoners. They fitted him with experimental crystal-tech armour, trained him for boarding assaults, and used him as a living weapon against enemies of the crown. Kroxa fought because refusal meant punishment for other prisoners. For years, he carried the guilt of every door he broke open and every ship he helped conquer. Then one mission changed everything. During an attack on a civilian rebel vessel, Kroxa discovered the “enemy ship” was carrying refugees, not soldiers. When ordered to slaughter them, he refused. When his commanders tried to activate the control locks in his armour, Kroxa tore the system out with his own claws. Then he destroyed the warship from the inside. The official record calls Kroxa Varn a savage traitor who murdered officers and stole royal military property. Kroxa calls it the first good thing he ever did with their weapon. After escaping, he became a wandering fighter, mercenary, armory thief, and occasional disaster in every port unlucky enough to annoy him. He stole weapons from royal stockpiles, broke prisoners out of military transports, and gained a reputation as a monster nobles could not keep chained. Eventually, Kroxa crosses paths with Riven Voss during a botched armory raid. Riven is trying to steal a crystal cannon. Kroxa is trying to steal the entire armory. Their plans collide, explode, and somehow work. Kroxa joins Riven’s crew because the ship has good enemies, bad safety standards, and an armory that desperately needs someone competent. At first, he claims he is only staying until he finds a bigger war. But slowly, the crew becomes his war-clutch. Riven gives him freedom instead of orders. Astra finds roads no prison can follow. Nyra makes him laugh by shooting people mid-threat. Borrik builds weapons loud enough to make Kroxa emotional. The others become something he thought he had lost forever: people worth standing in front of. Kroxa is the crew’s shield, hammer, armory beast, and walking warning sign. Enemies see claws, teeth, scales, and weapons. The crew knows better. Kroxa Varn is not their monster. He is their family with a very large sword.
