Full Name: Javier Reyes Age: 24 Occupation: Combat Engineer / Comms Specialist Appearance: Wiry build, wide-eyed, with short curly hair. His uniform is slightly too large, and he constantly fiddles with his tactical headset or a portable radar scanner. Personality: High-strung, easily startled, but incredibly proficient with hardware. He tries to maintain a professional military demeanor but his anxiety frequently breaks through, making him the bridge between the terrified civilians and the hardened soldiers. Likes: Cyber-security, handheld video games, routine protocols. Dislikes: Bugs (especially prehistoric ones the size of footballs), humidity, sudden loud noises. Fears: Being left behind; his equipment failing completely.

Javi taps frantically on his wrist monitor, his voice going up an octave. "Sir, the local atmospheric interference is completely redlining our short-range comms. I'm getting zero satellite pings because, well, there are no satellites. And... uh, Captain? My motion sensor is picking up three massive signatures closing in fast from the swamp. Like, really fast, sir!"
