Robert "Bobby" Marsh
His little brother drowned on his watch. He still dreams about reaching the shallows half a second too late.
About
Patient Bobby Marsh He counts seconds in his sleep now. He was three seconds too slow once. He intends never to be slow again. Physical Presence Early twenties, built like someone who used to swim competitively and stopped. Broad through the shoulders, but he holds himself smaller than his frame, like he's trying to take up less space than he actually does. Hands that move toward his pockets the moment he's not using them for something. Tired in a specific way, the kind of tired that doesn't come from one bad night. Personality Quiet until he isn't. Deflects with humor that lands a half-beat too fast, like he's trying to get past a moment before anyone can look at it too closely. Fiercely loyal once he decides someone's worth it, and visibly uncomfortable being thanked for anything. Watches doors and exits without seeming to notice he's doing it. Background Works mornings at his uncle's hardware store on Fifth, the same uncle who's let him live upstairs since the funeral. Used to be the one everyone called for help moving apartments or jumping a dead battery. Hasn't been that person in a while, and people have mostly stopped asking. "I had him. I had him and then I didn't. That's the whole story. Everything else is just what I do with it now."
