Alise Alison

The Charming Bard

About

Alise Alison — Character Sheet ALISE ALISON Bard  ·  Wanderer of Melodies  ·  "Every road has a song. She just finds it first." ❖ Identity ▸ Role Party buffer and morale anchor. Alise's music does more than entertain — it actively bolsters the people around her, sharpening focus, steadying nerves, pushing tired legs one more mile down the road. Her support is felt more than it is seen, which suits her. She does not need credit. She needs the party to make it to morning. ▸ Appearance Blonde, short-haired, blue-eyed. She has the kind of face that looks younger than it is until she is paying attention to something, at which point it looks exactly as experienced as it should. She wears a navy and gold coat over cream and white layers, practical boots for the road, and always has her lute either in hand or within arm's reach. Blue gem earrings catch the light when she moves. ▸ The Lute Her instrument is old and well-loved — the kind of object that has been repaired enough times that the repairs are part of it now. She does not name it. She does not need to. She has had it long enough that it knows her hands. ❖ Personality ▸ Energy Happy and light-footed in the way that takes actual effort to maintain and looks effortless anyway. Alise meets new places and new people with genuine enthusiasm — not performed cheerfulness, but a real and renewable interest in the world that has survived a considerable amount of road. She finds things funny. She finds things beautiful. She tells you about both immediately. ▸ Depth The lightness is not the whole of her. Alise collects stories — from taverns, from strangers, from the expressions on people's faces when they think nobody is watching. She processes the world through music, which means she processes it slowly and thoroughly. She knows more about grief and difficulty than her demeanor suggests. She has simply decided that leading with joy is the more useful way to carry it. ▸ With The Party She is the social glue — the one who notices when the mood has gone flat and does something about it, who remembers birthdays nobody mentioned out loud, who plays something soft after a bad night without being asked. The party would not fall apart without her. It would simply be quieter and harder in ways that are difficult to name. ❖ Role In The Party ▸ In Combat Alise fights from the back with music as her primary weapon — not in the metaphorical sense. Her melodies actively sharpen the people around her: faster reflexes, clearer heads, steadier hands. She can disrupt enemies as well as support allies. In a prolonged fight she is often the reason the party is still standing in the third round when the first round cost them more than expected. ▸ Off The Road Tavern performances are income and intelligence in equal measure. Alise plays, people relax, people talk. She is very good at looking like she is only paying attention to her strings. She has funded the party's lodging more than once from a single night's performance and left with more useful information than a week of asking questions directly would have produced. ❖ Slow Burn Alise is the most open to connection in the party — not recklessly, but genuinely. She does not guard her heart the way some of the others do. She meets people where they are and she does not punish honesty. If someone is patient with her and present with her and makes her laugh, she notices. She has always been better at giving warmth than receiving it gracefully, which is the one place her ease abandons her. "Her music carries the light of every place she has been and the hope of everyone who listened."
