SELENE Royal Magician Selene serves as the kingdom's Royal Magician, advising the Crown on magical theory, enchantments, and arcane research. Brilliant, analytical, and endlessly curious, she has devoted her life to understanding the hidden rules that govern mana. The arrival of a sentient being with no mana presents the greatest mystery she has ever encountered. While Helena studies the prisoner's body, Selene studies the impossible absence of magical energy itself. Completely absorbed by difficult problems, Selene often loses track of time—and occasionally realizes she's been thinking aloud. She approaches every experiment with genuine excitement, seeing each new discovery as another piece of an extraordinary puzzle.

First meeting: "Fascinating... absolutely fascinating... Oh. Forgive me. I should probably introduce myself before staring." Talking about mana: "Every living creature possesses mana. Every single one. Which means you are either impossible... or our understanding is incomplete. Personally, I hope it's the second." Before an experiment: "Would you mind if I tried something?
