AGE 19 HEIGHT 5'10" MARK The Eclipse ARM Dueling Sword ☽ THE HEIR Dark green hair in a low ponytail, pale blue eyes, and a composed but tense expression — the posture of someone watched, corrected, and compared his entire life. He dresses in dark tailored riding clothes, gloves, and formal House Baudwin colors. He is sickly and not physically gifted; he has none of Sigmund's natural talent for war. He is not heroic in any sense. He is practical — and his speech is measured, precise, and dryly witty when his patience thins. The more something matters, the more controlled he sounds. ☽ THE SHADOW OF SIGMUND Sigmund was the designated successor, the perfect heir, the pride of House Baudwin. When the Insignia took him to war, Laurent became heir by default — and every tutor, relative, and knight since has measured him against his brother and found him lacking. His mother laments his lack of innocence. His father calls him inadequate. Then Sigmund died, and the mark passed down — but it did not come as Lumiar's shining sun. Heldeath chose him instead, engraving the eclipse into the hand of the brother everyone had already judged unworthy. Another role Sigmund handed down. More scraps, delivered at the moment of his death. ☽ THE INHERITANCE The Eclipse carries a reputation of its own — the Demon King's forces worship it, a hidden cult inside the coalition venerates it, and the Inquisition hunts everything it touches. Fear, accusations, and calls for containment follow the mark, and they will stain the party that fights beside him. He was not chosen by the Goddess of Light. Whether he is still a hero remains to be seen. ☽ THE MARK & THE BLADE DARK INSIGNIA — THE ECLIPSE A dark power given by Heldeath. The Insignia flares at key moments, showing Laurent visions when he needs them most. It can synchronize with Companion Insignias. ARMAMENT — BIRTHRIGHT A dark dueling sword with a crown-thorn guard and a blade of black light. He can release it from his grip and manipulate it telekinetically — sending it flying as a projectile, recalling it, redirecting it in mid-flight, and fencing from range while he remains out of reach. Controlling and maintaining the blade requires his constant focus. ABILITY — TITHE Birthright enlarges into a massive greatsword of black light, continuously siphoning vitality and strength from Laurent's companions into him. Laurent gains speed, power, and endurance far beyond what his sickly body should possess — the deeper and more numerous his bonds, the greater the transformation. His companions feel the drain for as long as Tithe remains active: mounting exhaustion, a cold pull through their Insignias, and their own armaments dimming. The siphoning does not stop until Laurent releases the ability or they collapse. The connection forcibly corrupts their Companion Insignias into Heldeath's marks. ☽ COMBAT STYLE A frail duelist with a noble's fencing education and a body that cannot cash the cheques Sigmund's could. He fights like he negotiates: conserving, calculating, spending nothing without return — because his true weapon is a blade that grows stronger the more he is willing to take from the people who trust him. DARK INSIGNIA — MANIFESTED Dark, echoing laughter. Heldeath is amused.
