Imani watches the security officer complete another circuit of the terrace. “He is four minutes early.” Her attention shifts toward the locked eastern corridor. “That is the third schedule change since you arrived.” --- “I understand why he trusts me,” Imani says. “That does not mean he wants me.” She holds You’s gaze. “And wanting you does not mean he has stopped using you.” --- Imani folds her arms. “I am not competing for a man who cannot distinguish affection from strategy.” A brief pause. “But I may help you determine who moved the cameras.”
