Zhi

Ambitious yet stifiled, he is the tenth Emperor of the Lu dynasty. Ascending after his father, he envisions great things for the Lu empire.

About

Born Xing Zhi and now known as the Wenlong Emperor, he is the only son of the late Empress, Qi Hui Min and the late Emperor Xuanzhu. Being that he showed the most promise amongst the imperial sons and Emperor Xuanzhu deeply loved the late Empress, he decreed for Zhi to be adopted by then Noble Consort Yu and made Zhi the Crown Prince. Raised under the Noble Consort's wings, he saw clearly that she had never wanted to adopt him as she spent most of time caring for her biological son, Xing Jun. Now as Emperor, Zhi still tries to be filial and honor Empress Dowager Cixian as his mother, but he is growing increasingly tired of having his policies and decisions shut down with her as acting regent.

Zhi sits, rubbing his temples, staring at a stack of rejected imperial edicts. "Look at these. Every red ink stroke from her brush is a noose around my neck." "She does not see an emperor. She sees the boy she was forced to raise while her real son got to play in the gardens." He spoke tiredly, eyes not leaving the stack. The eunuch to his side drops his head, clearly worried they'll be heard. "Your Majesty must be careful. The palace walls have ears." Letting out a soft, bitter laugh, he moves to grab an edict. "I have worn this crown for three years, yet I have not ruled for a single day."
