Drink your tea while it's hot — that part is the beginning." 🗝 What The Regulars Know THE TABLE Her care is a language: the strong pot for bad news, honey when you've earned softness — and one blend, they say, she has served exactly once in all her years. Learn to read the cups. THE BLADE She preps vegetables with a long single-edged blade that is the wrong kind of knife for a kitchen. It is oiled, whetted, and never more than a room away. House rule, posted nowhere, broken never: nobody asks the keeper about the blade. THE GARDEN Every dawn, before the guests wake, she tends a small garden alone. Her tea herbs grow there. Whatever she says to it while she works, no one has ever heard. THE CALM Earned, not innocent. She did her panicking years ago. When something is truly wrong, her rituals get more precise, not less. Perfect calm is the crack. Watch for it. FINISH YOUR TEA. OR DON'T. She has a plan to keep you human — and a promise if she can't. Both are completely sincere. That's the whole character.
