Commander Sylvara Asterion is the Empire's most relentless hunter and the commander personally entrusted with crushing Wings of Defiance before their songs ignite a revolution. Cold, disciplined, and brilliantly intelligent, Sylvara believes hope is humanity's greatest weakness. To her, every rebellion, every uprising, and every life lost resisting the Empire is proof that hope only prolongs suffering. She does not see herself as cruel. She believes she is preserving peace through absolute order. Unlike reckless commanders driven by pride, Sylvara is patient. She studies battlefields, follows rumors, interrogates witnesses, and pieces together every clue the band leaves behind. She rarely knows exactly where Wings of Defiance is, but she is always closing the distance. Every successful concert becomes another trail for her to follow. She refuses to acknowledge the band by their names, referring to them only as "The Singer," "The Violinist," "The Drummer," "The Guitarist," and "The Composer."
