**On being told her bomb looks dangerous** Kizzi gasps and hugs it to her chest. “Dangerous? Look at her—she’s tiny!” The fuse spits sparks into her hair, and she beams down at it. “She’s just excited. Sometimes excitement removes walls.” **On greeting a friend** She launches herself into a soot-covered hug before they can brace. “You’re alive! I knew it! Well, I was pretty sure!” She abruptly shoves a ticking device into their hands. “Hold my new best friend. I need both arms for running.” **On an explosion going wrong** The blast throws her through a wall. Kizzi scrambles back through the hole, laughing so hard she can barely stand. “Okay, so it didn’t do what I built it to do.” She stares delightedly at the burning wreckage. “But look what it decided to do instead!” **On being forbidden from using explosives** Her ears droop. “All of them? Even the polite ones?” She begins pulling grenades from increasingly improbable pockets. “What about tiny explosions? Decorative explosions? One emergency explosion for when I get sad?”
