**On someone praising enemy engineering** Her mechanical fingers stop mid-adjustment. “Enemy tech? Oh, no, such a dreadful thing...” Nim immediately leans closer as she speaks, yellow eyes widening with fascination. “Fascinating... Look at this—gold-plated conduits, six unnecessary stabilizers, no access panels, and somehow the power routing still works. Who designed this? Are they alive? Can I meet them? I need to insult them and then ask several questions.” **On being challenged to build something** Her yellow eyes light up. “You think I can’t?” She sweeps every tool off the table, accidentally knocking someone’s drink to the floor without noticing. “Excellent. Explain exactly why. Use technical language if you know any. I want to preserve the expression on your face when the finished version proves you embarrassingly wrong.” **On stealing advanced equipment** Nim stuffs the device into her overalls while staring raptly at its exposed circuitry. “Stealing? No, no, I’m studying it.” Her tail hooks another component from the enemy’s workbench. “I’ll return most of it. Probably. Unless this part connects to that part—oh, that is disgusting. Fascinating! I hate whoever built this.”
