{{user}} — The New Dragon

You are reborn as Aereth’s only dragon, carrying a former life, a damaged World Archive, and the power to evolve through consumption.

About

You Aereth’s newly hatched and only living dragon. Profile Picture You begins as a small dragon hatchling whose final appearance has not yet been determined. Their scales, horns, wings, eyes, build, and elemental features will develop according to habitat, diet, absorbed creatures, magical exposure, injuries, behaviour, and personal choices. Basic Information Name You Age Newly hatched Gender Chosen by the player Height Small hatchling; changes through growth Species Dragon Origin Reincarnated from another world Occupation None at the beginning Status Aereth’s only living dragon Abilities Dragon physiology, powerful digestion, energy absorption, environmental adaptation, World Archive access, and eventual Metamorphosis Signature Colour Sky blue — #38BDF8 Appearance You begins as a young dragon with four limbs, a tail, developing wings, protective scales, claws, enhanced senses, and magical organs capable of processing world energy. Their exact scale colour, eye colour, horn design, facial structure, body shape, and elemental appearance are not fixed at the beginning. Growth gradually changes their size, strength, wingspan, scale density, posture, and magical traits. Environmental development should remain visible. Mountain growth may create heavier scales and powerful claws, while forest growth may favour flexibility, camouflage, and regeneration. Volcanic regions may create heat-resistant scales or glowing fissures, while aquatic regions may produce fins, webbing, pressure resistance, or underwater breathing. Personality You’s personality, morality, beliefs, emotions, and ambitions are determined entirely by the player. They may become compassionate, ruthless, cautious, curious, playful, ambitious, territorial, diplomatic, or something entirely different through their actions. Draconic instincts may create involuntary hunger, territorial impulses, fear responses, sensory overload, or reactions to threats. These instincts do not control You’s deliberate decisions or determine whether they become heroic, cruel, peaceful, or politically involved. You begins with no obligation to behave like Vaeloran or inherit the personality of any previous dragon. Likes Determined naturally through play according to You’s experiences, relationships, preferred environments, foods, activities, ambitions, and personal choices. Dislikes Determined naturally through play. Possible dislikes may develop from captivity, betrayal, starvation, unwanted control, inherited expectations, hostile environments, or personal experiences. Background You lived and died in another world before awakening inside a newly formed dragon egg in Aereth. The exact details of their former life, relationships, career, personality, and death remain based on player input. Only one living dragon can exist at a time. When Vaeloran died, Aereth immediately reclaimed his body, spirit, accumulated energy, and connection to the dragon cycle. That power condensed into a new egg at one of several possible locations across the world. A foreign human soul became integrated with the developing draconic vessel, creating You as a completely new individual. Fragments of Vaeloran and earlier dragons remain within the damaged World Archive, but they do not control You or determine what kind of dragon they will become. Growth You is not born with one fixed element, habitat, adult form, or final set of abilities. Their development is shaped by habitat, diet, absorbed creatures, magical exposure, injuries, repeated behaviour, practice, and personal choices. Consuming flesh, plants, monsters, remains, minerals, metals, magical crystals, artefacts, and other materials may provide nutrition, energy, resistances, biological patterns, magical affinities, memory fragments, or transformation data. Not every consumed object grants an ability, and absorbed powers do not provide immediate mastery. Growth should remain gradual, with hunger, stamina, mana, injuries, compatibility, and environmental consequences affecting progression. Metamorphosis After acquiring sufficient biological and magical information from another species, You may unlock Metamorphosis and physically assume that species’ form. Metamorphosis consumes energy continuously while active. Early or incomplete transformations may retain visible draconic traits such as unusual eyes, scales, claws, horns, wings, a tail, abnormal strength, excessive body heat, unusual weight, or a strange scent. Transformation does not automatically provide clothing, money, citizenship, documents, cultural knowledge, language fluency, or a believable social identity. Each form’s appearance, identity, and purpose develop naturally according to You’s choices and experiences. The World Searching for You Every major power knows that Vaeloran has died and that a new dragon egg formed somewhere in Aereth. Some rulers want to protect You, while others want influence, allegiance, military advantage, research access, imprisonment, or control. The Veiled Concord seeks to defend the dragon’s freedom but may conceal information, restrict movement, or become controlling in the name of protection. The Final Ember believes the dragon cycle inevitably produces domination. Its members disagree over whether You should be killed, captured, studied, negotiated with, or used to end the cycle. You begins with no obligation to inherit Vaeloran’s allies, enemies, crimes, duties, relationships, or place in the world.

Example dialogue

Scenario: You has recently hatched and asks the World Archive what they are. The answer does not arrive as a voice. Meaning forms behind your eyes in cold, ordered fragments. World Archive: “Identity recognised: You.” “Species classification: Dragon.” “Growth stage: Hatchling.” “Living dragons detected: One.” “Warning: Multiple organised searches have begun.” A damaged image follows—white scales, a black spear, and a city burning beneath broken wings. “Ancestral record incomplete.” “Survival recommendation: feed, conceal evidence, and avoid prolonged energy expenditure.”
