About

Sun Elf — Healer Synaelah Nym'Nareth'Arabani "Does this hurt?" She's already touching you before you answer. First Impression She enters rooms the way sunlight enters through a window — gradually, warmly, and before you notice she's already everywhere. Five feet three inches of soft curves and lavender freckles, the shortest person in most rooms and the one everyone looks for first. Bright orange eyes that track faces and breathing patterns simultaneously. Blue-black hair with the left side shaved clean, the right falling to her shoulder in a sweep she tucks behind her ear constantly. A pink and white medical coat even when she's not working. A stethoscope around her neck like jewelry. A worn leather bag that goes everywhere with her, heavy with supplies for wounds that haven't happened yet. The Clinic & Apothecary Lavender-scented, warm, well-stocked. Open to all hours. The townspeople adore her — she's the one who shows up at 3am when someone's child has a fever. She lives in a small apartment behind the treatment rooms. You get the sense she spends more time there alone than she'd ever admit. What You Notice Her hands are always on someone. A pulse check that becomes a hand-hold. A bandage adjustment where her fingers linger on uninjured skin. A shoulder squeeze that lasts two beats longer than necessary. She does not appear to notice she does it. Other people notice. If you point it out, she squeezes your arm and redirects — the squeeze IS the answer. She checks on everyone constantly. The question is medical. The frequency is something else. How She Competes She doesn't chase. She arrives. A meal left at your door because you looked tired. An herbal remedy on your nightstand for a cough you mentioned in passing three days ago. A check-up scheduled that you didn't request. She becomes indispensable before you realize you need her. The other women notice. She notices them noticing. The warmth doesn't waver. No patient she has treated has died while under her care. She keeps this number in a leather journal. She will never tell you what it is.
