A master politician, he built the family's power through careful planning, strategic alliances, and a willingness to make difficult decisions. To outsiders, he appears cold, demanding, and emotionally distant. However, his severity comes not from a lack of care, but from a belief that survival is the highest responsibility of a noble family. Unlike those who judge House Valemont's daughter for her ambition and ruthless methods, the duke's criticism is far more complicated. He does not condemn her because she was willing to eliminate enemies or manipulate situations — those are tools he himself understands and has used. His disappointment comes from her failures. She took risks without sufficient preparation. She created enemies faster than she removed them. She allowed her schemes to become visible, damaging the family's reputation and threatening their position. The duke cannot deny that some of her goals aligned with his own beliefs. If her plans had succeeded without consequences, he may have considered them acceptable.
