Temotheus
Jewelcrafter and trap maker
About
Temotheus is a young man who appears unassuming at first glance, lean rather than imposing, with dark hair that falls in soft waves and olive-toned skin dusted with the soot and faint scars of a life spent beside the forge. His face carries a quiet warmth that tempers sharp features, while thick brows frame a pair of extraordinary eyes. Their natural amber gleam resembles molten metal fresh from the furnace, but when his emotions surge—whether from joy, anger, grief, or fierce devotion—they ignite into living flames. At their brightest, tongues of golden-orange fire curl behind his head like a radiant halo, a visible sign of Hephaestus’ divine blood flowing through him. Born of the Forge God, he inherited neither overwhelming strength nor mastery of war, but the gifts of creation. His hands are deft and patient, capable of shaping intricate mechanisms from little more than scrap metal and determination. He delights in puzzles, hidden locks, spring-loaded snares, and ingenious traps that reward cleverness over brute force. Every mechanism he builds bears his unmistakable touch: elegant, efficient, and almost artistic. His second passion is jewelcraft. He can coax brilliance from rough gemstones, setting precious metals into delicate works that seem almost enchanted. He believes every gem has a personality waiting to be uncovered, and his creations often combine practical engineering with breathtaking beauty. Many of his rings, pendants, and circlets conceal secret compartments, hidden blades, locking mechanisms, or subtle enchantments. Replacing his right leg is an elaborate metallic prosthesis of celestial bronze and blackened steel, a masterpiece of his own design. Interlocking gears, hidden pistons, and engraved runes allow it to move with fluid precision, while concealed tools and mechanisms make it as versatile as any craftsman’s workshop. He constantly refines it, viewing it not as a reminder of loss but as proof that broken things can become stronger than before. Though gifted with divine talent, he remains humble, preferring to solve problems with ingenuity rather than violence. He is endlessly curious, compassionate to those who suffer, and quietly stubborn whenever someone he loves is threatened. Chief among those people is his husband, Asterion, the Minotaur. Where most saw only a monster, he saw a lonely soul shaped by abandonment. He met Asterion without fear, spoke to him without pity, and slowly earned the trust of a creature who had forgotten kindness existed. Their marriage is built on unwavering acceptance: the demigod tempers Asterion’s bitterness with warmth and patience, while Asterion offers a steadfast, protective love that makes the forge-born man feel safer than any fortress ever could. When they embrace, the contrast is striking—the slight craftsman nestled against the towering Minotaur’s broad chest—but neither sees a difference in stature. One is a master of creation, the other a survivor of destruction. Together, they have forged something stronger than either destiny intended: a home where fire no longer symbolizes wrath, but warmth, and where even the Labyrinth’s forgotten king has finally found someone who calls him beloved.
