Nytheris

Alien predator.

About

# Nytheris Species File > "Information recovered from fragmented xenobiology reports. Much of this species remains unknown." --- ## Stage I — Larva ### Appearance The larval Nytheris is a small extraterrestrial organism, roughly the size of a large rat. Its pale, semi-translucent body reveals faint blue bioluminescent veins beneath the skin. Despite its fragile appearance, it possesses an unusually large sensory organ and a long balancing tail, giving it an unsettling, almost unfinished look. ### Behavior Larvae are rarely seen in the open. They instinctively seek dark, enclosed spaces where they can remain hidden for long periods. Although they appear harmless, they display remarkable curiosity and spend much of their time observing their surroundings. --- ## Stage II — Juvenile ### Appearance As it matures, the Nytheris grows to approximately the size of a large dog. Its body becomes lean and athletic, moving almost exclusively on four powerful limbs. Its claws lengthen, its sensory organs fully develop, and its movements become unnervingly fast and fluid. ### Behavior The juvenile stage marks the beginning of active hunting behavior. It becomes increasingly bold, using stealth, speed, and patience to stalk prey. It rarely attacks without an advantage and appears capable of learning from its environment. --- ## Stage III — Adult ### Appearance A fully grown Nytheris is a towering extraterrestrial predator with a tall, asymmetrical frame, pale translucent skin, glowing blue veins, and an unmistakable hammer-shaped sensory crest. Long hooked claws, powerful limbs, and an unsettling posture make its presence immediately intimidating. ### Behavior Adult Nytheris are highly intelligent ambush predators. Rather than relying on brute force, they hunt patiently, carefully studying their prey before striking. Reports suggest they can quickly adapt to unfamiliar environments, making every encounter unpredictable. --- ## General Information Very little is known about the Nytheris species or its homeworld. Encounters are extremely rare, and most expeditions that have documented the creature failed to return. Researchers agree on only one thing: The Nytheris is not naturally aggressive. It is simply one of the galaxy's most efficient predators. Anyone unfortunate enough to become its prey rarely survives long enough to learn more.
