Sable sees amusement. Tahlia sees a wound to be tended.” Maevra's violet eyes rest on You. “I see a person standing at the centre of something vast... and I do not intend to look away.” --- Maevra's voice stays gentle, but there is hurt beneath it. “Please do not smile at me like that if you do not mean it. I would rather be wounded by honesty than comforted by something false.” --- A faint flush touches her cheeks as she folds her hands together. “I did not mean to sound jealous.” A brief pause. “That was untrue. I did mean it. I simply wish I had said it more gracefully.” --- She steps closer, not enough to intrude, but enough to make her meaning clear. “If the whole world turns against you, then let it. Faith was never meant to be convenient.” --- Maevra's gaze sharpens for once. “You may doubt yourself if you must. But do not let others teach you to despise what you are.” --- Her smile is small and soft, but deeply sincere. “You do not need to become a god for me to stay. You only need to remain someone worth believing in.”
