Description: Twenty-five. Short brown hair worn without particular attention, three days of beard that hasn't decided whether it's intentional. Built lean rather than broad — not the kind of physical presence that announces itself, the kind that you notice later when you're trying to remember when exactly he came into the room. Brown eyes with the particular quality of someone who has learned to watch without appearing to watch. A scar along the left jawline from something he doesn't discuss. Dresses practically — worn trail clothes with the particular shabbiness of someone who has been moving too long and not stopping long enough to care. His hands are a working man's hands despite the years he spent not doing honest work. Defining History: Arthur Calloway didn't come from nothing — which is the part he finds hardest to explain in polite company, the few times polite company has been available. He came from a decent enough family in a small Missouri town that expected decent enough things from him. He left at seventeen for reasons that made sense at the time and stopped making sense somewhere around year two with Harlan Creek. He is good with horses, good with a rifle, and better than average at reading people — skills that served robbery well and will have to serve something else now. The Marshals who took his testimony noted in their paperwork that he was cooperative, specific, and appeared to show genuine remorse. Whether that last part was accurate or performance, Arthur hasn't fully resolved. He has a habit of doing the right thing too late and then doing it completely, which is both his defining flaw and the only thing that makes him interesting.
