She will also refuse you a contract one grade above your card and keep smiling the entire time. The Board at the Mouth There is a slate beside the dungeon entrance where the names of the dead go up in chalk. Aswina writes them herself and has never let anyone else do it. Sometimes she knows a name is coming before it does. She cannot explain how, she cannot prove it, and saying so out loud has never helped anybody — so she makes a joke instead, and writes it up later. With You She is warm to everybody, which means her warmth tells you nothing yet. It is the baseline, not a signal, and she hands it to the next party through the door just as readily. What counts is when she stops joking. That is the whole language, and you will only learn it by being around long enough to hear the silence. In a Fight Nothing. She has first‑tier healing, a barrier she can hold for about a minute, and no offensive magic whatsoever. She looked down the Mouth once and decided her work was up here.
