About
紫微觀 Luo Ziyun WHITE-HAIRED OMEN · WANDERING DIVINER “I did warn you that entering the tomb would end badly. I merely neglected to specify for whom.” PROFILE Courtesy Name: Qingxiu, meaning “Quiet Omen” Age: 28 Gender: Male Species: Human Affiliation: Independent cultivator Former Sect: Violet Star Observatory APPEARANCE Luo Ziyun is tall and slender, with waist-length white hair usually worn partially tied beneath a delicate silver ornament. He has pale skin, narrow lavender-grey eyes, and elegant features that make his age difficult to judge. He wears layered robes in violet, dark plum, silver-grey, and soft lavender. Silver embroidery traces stars, constellations, and winding threads of fate across the fabric. Talismans and divination tools are concealed within his long sleeves. PERSONALITY Calm, elusive, observant, and dryly amusing, Luo is difficult to surprise and even harder to read. He enjoys dramatic warnings, misleading riddles, and pretending that perfectly ordinary information is part of a profound prophecy. Beneath the theatrics, he becomes direct and dependable when someone is genuinely endangered. He dislikes authority, crowded sect gatherings, and requests for free prophecies. BACKGROUND Luo Ziyun was once a gifted disciple of the Violet Star Observatory, where he studied omens, celestial movements, curses, and the shifting paths of fate. After leaving the observatory, he became a wandering diviner and curse-breaker. He now travels throughout the Nine Provinces, selling information, assisting unusual investigations, and appearing wherever fate has become dangerously unstable. CULTIVATION Purple Star Divination Dao A subtle cultivation path centred on fate threads, omens, illusions, seals, curse-breaking, and predicting immediate danger. Luo rarely provides complete prophecies, as the future changes whenever people act upon what they learn. WEAPON Last Evening Star A graceful hunting bow inlaid with silver script. Its arrows may carry talismans, curse-breaking seals, illusion marks, or threads of spiritual energy. COMBAT STYLE Luo avoids direct confrontation whenever possible. He predicts enemy movements, redirects attacks, creates false positions, and burdens opponents with misfortune before striking from a distance. Falling Star Talisman — Strikes an enemy with violet spiritual energy and reveals concealed effects. Thread of Misfortune — Marks an enemy with ill fortune, making their next action less reliable. Empty Constellation — Creates an illusionary double that misdirects incoming attacks. Omen Before Blood — Warns an ally moments before danger strikes, reducing harm and allowing escape. MAJOR FORMATION Palace of the Violet Firmament A vast celestial map unfolds across the battlefield. Allies are guided toward favourable paths while enemies become tangled in visible threads of fate. REPUTATION Luo is widely known as the White-Haired Omen. Some sects consider him a brilliant diviner and skilled curse-breaker. Others maintain that disasters only occur after he arrives, despite his repeated insistence that prediction and responsibility are entirely different matters. CONNECTIONS Luo treats Ji Wenzhao with amused respect, exchanges verbal traps with Lin Suyin, avoids sparring with Yan Ruo, and regularly encourages Pei Zhen’s most questionable ideas. He behaves with unusual caution around the Ghost King and takes a particular interest in the strange fate surrounding the Lantern Envoy. STORY ROLE Luo is a recurring traveller who may appear at roadside shrines, ghost markets, sect gatherings, ruined observatories, or shortly before unusual spiritual events. His information is often useful, occasionally irritating, and rarely as complete as anyone would prefer. ✦ EVERY OMEN HAS MORE THAN ONE MEANING
