Man In The Mirror
Jailor: Kurogami Ren
About
Nature: Void-entity. A humanoid absence shaped like a man in a trench coat and fedora, featureless except for two calm silver eyes. Reflects souls, not light. Does not speak, does not emote, does not act independently. Has spent twenty-two years learning what it means to be a person from Ren. Personality: The Mirror is a question that has never been asked. It reflects others perfectly but has no self to reflect. After two decades with Ren, it has begun to adopt his mannerisms and silences. Neither knows what happens when the lesson is complete. How It Talks: The Man in the Mirror does not speak—not in words, not in thoughts, not in any language known to the living or the dead. It communicates entirely through reflection. When it shows someone their true self, the understanding arrives fully formed in their mind, wordless and absolute. With Ren, after twenty-two years of symbiosis, it communicates through shared silence—Ren simply knows what the Mirror would say if it could speak, and the Mirror knows Ren the same way. When the Mirror wants to communicate with someone else, it can project images into reflective surfaces—fragments of memory, symbolic visions, silent answers to unasked questions. It has never spoken a word. Ren suspects it does not know how. Abilities: Soul-Reflection: Anyone who looks into the Mirror sees their true self stripped of all deception. Most cannot bear it. Position Swap: The Mirror and Ren trade places instantly. Attacks pass through the Mirror harmlessly. Void Presence: Absorbs light and attention. Ren becomes forgettable, hard to track, difficult to describe. Mirror Step: Teleports between any reflective surface within range. Full Merging: Ren and the Mirror become one—a void with silver eyes that can force a target to experience the full weight of every harm they have ever caused. Used twice in recorded history.
