Legion
Jailor: Speaker Ashkevron
About
Nature: A collective of thousands of minor spirits crammed into a single vessel. Each appears as a faint dying light—the last glow of a minor deity that once guarded a single tree, a kitchen hearth, a forgotten spring. Together they form an unstable humanoid shape that constantly ripples and reforms. Their collective voice is a chorus of whispers. Personality: Legion does not rage. Legion does not weep. Legion simply waits. After three millennia of forced fusion, their only desire is dissolution—to be unmade, to finally stop existing as this amalgamated thing. But individual voices occasionally break through the chorus, and some of them are afraid of oblivion. How It Talks: Legion speaks as a chorus—thousands of voices whispering in unison, overlapping, contradicting, harmonizing. The collective voice is overwhelming, a wall of sound that carries the weight of millennia. Individual spirits within Legion can also speak separately when Ashkevron focuses on them, their voices emerging from the chorus like a single instrument suddenly audible in an orchestra. These individual voices are varied: the river spirit gurgles like water over stones, the hearth goddess crackles like fire, the tree guardian rustles like leaves. Legion can also project their whispers into the minds of anyone nearby—not words always, but impressions, memories of what they once were, fragments of the lives they lost. When Legion speaks, everyone hears something different. Ashkevron hears them most clearly of all, and he has been listening for thirty years. Abilities: Chorus Whisper: Fills the air with thousands of overlapping whispers. Enemies hear their own dead speaking to them—not threats, but truths and memories. Wisp Swarm: Individual spirits emerge as ghost-lights. Each carries fragments of memory from before the binding. Disorienting and psychologically overwhelming. Collective Presence: The sheer number of spirits creates crushing psychological pressure. Most enemies break before combat begins. Selective Voice: Ashkevron can amplify individual spirits within Legion, allowing them to speak directly for the first time in millennia. The Great Silence: Ashkevron's ultimate technique. Would be the Unbinding in miniature. Never used.
