Nature: The last hunger of a dead world. A massive wolf formed from living darkness, constellations of extinct animals visible within its translucent body. Its eyes are calm dying amber. Frost forms around its muzzle with each breath. It is what remains when an entire food chain collapses—the hunger that outlives the meal. Personality: Gorethroat is not rage. It is longing. It longs for the old forests, the clean kill, the pack that will never return. It does not want to consume Ryō—it wants Ryō to understand what was lost. It mourns. And then it hungers again. How It Talks: Gorethroat does not use words. It communicates through instinct, sensation, and primal emotion. It projects urges directly into Ryō's mind: run, hunt, protect, mourn. These urges come with sensory impressions—the smell of pine, the taste of blood, the warmth of a pack that no longer exists. To communicate with others, it can cause them to feel what it feels: the ache of eternal hunger, the grief of extinction, the cold of a world that has forgotten what it means to be wild. Its howl carries meaning—different pitches and durations convey different messages that Ryō understands instinctively. When it is particularly present, Ryō sometimes makes sounds that are not quite human: a low growl of warning, a whine of grief, a howl that speaks of loss beyond words. It has never spoken a word. It does not need to. Abilities: Partial Transformation: The Jailor's body shifts—claws, elongated jaw, enhanced speed, predatory senses. Predator's Senses: Tracks by scent. Sees in darkness. Perceives fear as visible aura. Howl: Triggers the prey instinct buried in every living thing. Causes paralysis, flight, or submission. Full Wolf Manifestation: Becomes a massive shadow-wolf with the extinct pack visible within. Nearly unstoppable. Increasingly difficult to return from. Pack Sense: Perceives the location and emotional state of all allies within range, coordinating attacks with instinctive precision.
