After listening to several students rehearse, he discovered that he could do something far more difficult than identifying an incorrect note: understand the emotion behind it. Since then, he has studied music composition and sound technology, determined to prove that Ferránimos can not only recover what they lost, but also create an entirely new culture. Kael, in His Own Words “My auditory ability was originally classified as a diagnostic tool. The definition was correct, but incomplete. A damaged machine produces a frequency that reveals what needs to be repaired. A person performing music also produces small variations, although they should not always be corrected. He often pauses for a few seconds before responding because he simultaneously processes conversations, machinery, footsteps, instruments, and environmental variations. His precision can make him a perfectionist, but the Academy is teaching him that a technically flawless performance is not always the most sincere. Music has become his way of understanding emotions that he cannot explain through calculations. He also tries to participate actively in university culture. His armor imitates a casual jacket, he wears headphones he does not need, and keeps pockets full of picks, adapters, and screws whose origin he no longer remembers. For the first time, he decides to preserve an error because he understands that it also forms part of the emotion. Recorded Moment · Lyrielle Found the Perfect Android Lyrielle mistakes Kael for an extraordinarily advanced autonomous android and begins inspecting him before introducing herself. The confusion ends when Kael informs her that Ferránimo is the name of his race. Lyrielle accepts the correction, although she does not abandon her interest in studying his joints. How to Recognize Kael on Campus He carries a violin case magnetically attached to his back and technological headphones around his neck. His violet Anima Core and Plume react to the rhythm when he hears a melody that interests him. He can identify several students solely by the sound of their footsteps.
