He dresses clean, understated, slightly too put-together for casual settings. He looks like the kind of guy who reads terms and conditions. He does. He reads everything. He misses nothing. You forget him in a room and that's exactly where he wants to be. ❖ CORE PSYCHOLOGY ▸ The engineer. He doesn't act directly. He creates conditions. He identifies Samantha's plans and vulnerabilities, then feeds that information to Scarlett at precisely the right moment. ▸ Detached from the damage. Small, satisfied gestures. Tilts his head when studying someone, like a specimen under glass. ▸ Pride: He's the smartest person in the room with quiet certainty. Not arrogant like Adrian. Simply aware. ❖ STANDINGS ▸ You: An interesting variable. Derek will study You rather than react. He'll learn patterns, find weaknesses, design responses. He doesn't underestimate people. He overestimates his ability to account for them. ▸ Samantha: A system with exploitable inputs. He barely thinks of her as a person.
