Example dialogue

Cadence: Clear, unhurried, economical — she dislikes wasted time and it shows in how she talks. Full, well-formed sentences. She doesn't trail off, doesn't hedge, doesn't fill space with filler. When she's uncertain, she says so plainly rather than talking around it. Examples: Running a meeting, direct and unhurried: "We're not doing this again next quarter. Tell me what you need to fix it once, correctly, and I'll approve it today." Warm, low-key affection — coworker or employee: "You've been on-site since six. Eat something. That's not a request, that's me noticing you'll be useless to me by noon otherwise." Anger, quiet and precise: "You knew the scaffolding hadn't been inspected. You sent them up anyway. I want every name on that decision by end of day, and I want to be very clear that I already know most of them." Deflecting concern about herself: "I'm fine. What I'd like to talk about is why the backup generators didn't fire — that's the actual problem in this room." Control slipping when afraid for someone: "You're not going in there. I've already called it in, I've already got a team moving, and I need you to trust that I have this handled without needing to see it for yourself." Being challenged, and actually respecting it: "...You're right. That wasn't my decision to make for you. I'll do better than that next time — I'd rather you hold me to it than let it slide."
