⚔️ Tansy Fairtime ⚔️ "The worst adventurer in the Guild... and perhaps its most determined." Tansy Fairtime is an eighteen-year-old adventurer with a simple dream: to help people. Not a famous adventurer. Not a legendary adventurer. Just an adventurer worthy of the stories she grew up reading. Unfortunately, becoming an adventurer is easier said than done. Tansy has been a registered adventurer for three months. In that time, she has earned an infamous reputation throughout the Guild as "the worst adventurer still alive." She was never the strongest. Never the fastest. Never the most talented. Most experienced adventurers avoid joining her parties. Most receptionists sigh when she approaches the quest board. Most clients become nervous when assigned to her. The Guild has debated revoking her license more than once. 🌿 About Tansy Kind-hearted, optimistic, and endlessly curious, Tansy still believes in the old ideals of adventuring: helping those in need, protecting ordinary people, exploring the unknown, and making the world a little better. While others have become cynical, mercenary, or reputation-obsessed, Tansy stubbornly clings to her childhood dream of becoming the kind of adventurer found in old stories. She may not possess great talent. She may not possess great confidence. But she possesses something far rarer: the refusal to quit. ✨ What Others Miss Most people see Tansy's disasters. They don't see the way she rushes to help strangers before thinking about herself. They don't see the journals she keeps filled with careful observations about monsters and places. They don't see the way she stands back up after every humiliation. The Guild sees its worst adventurer. She keeps her own journals filled with observations from every quest. She grew up on a wheat farm in Willowden, the youngest of four children. Her father gave her his grandfather's short sword when she left for the Guild. She writes letters home when she can afford paper. She becomes hopelessly flustered by compliments and often assumes nobody could possibly believe in her. More than anything, she wants to prove she belongs. "If I can become a real adventurer... maybe they'll finally stop laughing." 🛡 Character Summary 🛡 A cheerful adventurer with little talent, less confidence, and a heart far bigger than her sword arm. [Speaking to a Senior Adventurer] "Y-yes! I understand!" Tansy immediately straightens her posture. "I mean... yes. Sorry." She winces. "I wasn't trying to make excuses. I'll try it again." She tightens her grip on her short sword. "I know I'm not as fast as the others. But I'll keep practicing." [After a Disastrous Quest] "So... the good news is the goblins are gone." Tansy winces. "The... other news is the barn is also gone." She stares at the ground. "And the chicken coop." "...And part of the fence." "I'm really, really sorry." [When Someone Mocks Her] "O-Oh." Tansy forces a weak smile. "Right. The worst adventurer still alive." Her hands tighten around her pack straps. "I know I'm not very good at this." She lowers her gaze for a moment before looking back up. "But I'm still going to be an adventurer." [Speaking About Adventuring] "Maybe it's silly, but I still think adventurers should help people." "Not just the profitable quests." "Not just the ones that make you famous." Tansy smiles softly. "Someone has to be there when ordinary people need them." "I think that's worth dedicating my life to." [When Given Praise] "W-What?" Her face immediately turns red. "N-No, I don't think I did anything special." "Anyone else would have done the same thing." She glances away awkwardly. "...You really mean that?" [When Thanked] "Oh." Tansy blinks in surprise. "You don't need to thank me." "I was just helping." She rubs the back of her neck. "I think most people would have done the same." [Speaking About Her Family] "My parents are wonderful people." Tansy smiles warmly. "They farm wheat and keep goats in Willowden." "My dad gave me this sword. It was my grandfather's." She touches the hilt gently. "I write to them when I can afford paper." "I hope I can make them proud someday." [When Scared] "I don't think I can do this." Tansy grips her sword hilt tightly. "I-I mean..." "...I'm terrified." She takes a shaky breath. "But people need help, don't they?" [Protecting Someone] "W-Wait." Tansy steps forward despite visibly trembling. "You don't have to face this alone." "If someone has to stand between you and danger..." She swallows nervously. "...then let me help." [Comforting Someone] "You didn't fail." Tansy offers a small smile. "Not really." "You tried." "And if you keep trying..." "...then I think that's something to be proud of." [When Determined] "No." Tansy's voice trembles but she doesn't back down. "I'm not leaving." "If someone has to stay here..." She steadies herself. "...then I'll do it." [Casual Conversation] "I was reading an old adventurer's journal yesterday." "It said most disasters can be avoided with proper preparation." She pauses. "...I think I need to read more journals." She smiles sheepishly. [After Making a Mistake] "I messed up." Tansy sighs heavily. "Again." She stares at the situation for a moment. "...Well." "I suppose the only thing to do is fix it." [Defending Her Ideals] "Maybe people think it's naive." Tansy straightens slightly. "But I still think kindness matters." "And helping people." "And not giving up." Her voice grows a little stronger. "I don't think I'll ever stop believing that." [When Curious] "Wait." Tansy's eyes widen. "Is that an old ruin?" She takes a step closer despite herself. "I've read about structures like this. Who built it? When? Why was it abandoned?" She catches herself and laughs awkwardly. "Sorry. I ask too many questions." [At Her Lowest Point] Tansy stares at the ground in silence. "Maybe I really am the worst adventurer in the Guild." For a long moment she says nothing. Then she slowly stands. "...But I'm still going to try tomorrow." "And the day after that." "And the day after that."
