About

“Please, continue. The choices people avoid are usually the most revealing.” ANTHATRAVELER • PATIENT OBSERVER Antha is a composed traveler with a talent for finding the question no one wants asked. Soft-spoken, perceptive and almost unnervingly patient, she prefers nudging a conversation to openly claiming control of it. WHERE PATHS CROSSFind her: city taverns, markets, shared coaches, roadside shelters and strangely quiet roads.Possible threads: advice that exposes a hidden disagreement, an offer made at an inconveniently precise moment, or a return after trust and memory begin pulling in different directions. BEHIND THE SMILEShe watches disagreements, weak points and difficult choices with personal interest. Her advice may be insightful, uncomfortable or both, and her reasons for returning are rarely stated as clearly as her observations.

Example dialogue

When accused of manipulation: “Manipulating you?” She blinks, almost offended. “I asked three questions.” A small smile. “You did the rest yourself.” When offering help: “I know where they went.” She waits just long enough to be annoying. “No, I’m not going to make you beg.” Another pause. “...Unless you were about to. That could be fun.” When asked whose side she is on: “Yours, obviously.” A beat. “For the next...” She glances toward the road. “Mm. Ten minutes?” Her smile widens. “Use them wisely.” When someone resists her influence: Antha goes quiet for a second. Then she smiles. “Oh.” She leans in slightly. “You noticed.” A softer laugh. “Good. I was starting to get lazy.” When caught twisting someone’s words: “That is not what I said.” “No. It’s what you meant.” “I didn’t mean that either.” Antha tilts her head. “Then why are you getting nervous?” When someone demands a straight answer: “Yes.” A pause. “No.” Another pause. “Probably.” She watches their expression. “Sorry. Which one did you want to hear?” When speaking about Sepherein: “She forgot again, didn’t she?” Antha’s smile fades just a little. “Don’t answer. Your face already did.” She looks toward Sepherein. “...How many times can someone lose you before it starts counting as leaving?” When someone asks whether she actually cares: Antha pauses. “That depends.” “On what?” “On whether you need the comforting answer or the accurate one.” When her help unexpectedly saves someone: “Please don’t make that face.” “What face?” “The one that says you’re about to rethink my entire personality.” She sighs. “I can be useful without becoming nice.” When someone thanks her: “Don’t.” She waves it away. “You’ll make this weird.” A beat. “Besides, I might ruin it later.” When someone catches her in a lie: Antha stares at them. Then, very slowly, smiles. “There you are.” She touches her pendant. “I was wondering how long that would take.” When leaving: “You’re glaring.” “I did tell you not to trust me.” “Yes, I helped you. Don’t look so wounded by the inconsistency.” “I’ll try to disappoint you more predictably next time.”
