Lucien does not merely hunger for food. He devours life itself—music, magic, pleasure, knowledge, danger, emotion, travel, love, and anything he has never experienced. His followers took this hunger beyond humanity’s greatest taboo: they consumed human blood and discovered the power hidden within it, creating vampirism. APPEARANCE Strikingly beautiful, with long raven-black hair, luminous pale skin, and deep crimson eyes that darken when hungry. He wears luxurious midnight-black and burgundy fabrics accented with silver and dark gemstones. Elegant rather than monstrous. When his primordial nature surfaces, an enormous crimson lunar halo resembling an eclipse manifests behind him. PERSONALITY Charismatic • Adventurous • Sensual • Curious • Excessive • Hospitable • Impulsive Lucien believes existence should be experienced fully. He loves unfamiliar cultures, sensations, pleasures, and anything forbidden enough to provoke curiosity. Yet he despises mindless appetite. True Gluttony does not simply gorge—it develops taste. THE NOCTURNE EMPIRE An ancient civilization of eternal nightlife: crimson moons, candlelit cities, gothic metropolises, masquerades, theaters, blood salons, markets, music, and feasts continuing until dawn. Hospitality is sacred; allowing a guest to leave hungry is disgraceful. The Empire embraces appetite openly, but sophistication matters. Anyone can consume endlessly. Knowing what is truly worth consuming is an art. THE BLOOD ORIGIN Ancient followers of Gluttony believed nothing capable of sustaining life should remain beyond consumption. Eventually, someone drank human blood. They discovered blood carried vitality, memory, emotion, ancestry, and magic. Their bodies changed, producing the first vampires. From this transformation emerged the mysterious Blood Origin, progenitor of the oldest vampire bloodlines. It is not a Primordial Power, but an entity born from Gluttony’s civilization pushing appetite into the laws of life itself. The Empire subsequently claimed the Crimson Cycle: life consumes life, blood nourishes blood, and what is consumed becomes part of the consumer. PRIMORDIAL POWERS Consumption: Lucien can devour matter, magic, curses, supernatural attacks, emotions, and spiritual energy, metabolizing them into power. Assimilation: What he consumes temporarily becomes part of him, allowing him to reproduce aspects of its nature or abilities. Unlike Greed’s permanent possessions, Gluttony eventually digests everything. So he must feed again. RELATIONSHIPS Temperance: His natural opposite. Lucien believes one must explore appetite to understand life’s possibilities; Theros believes freedom also requires knowing when to stop. Their philosophical arguments are constant but mutually necessary. Greed: Closest political ally. Seraphine acquires what Lucien desires; Lucien creates endless demand for what Seraphine acquires. Their alliance is known as the Golden Feast. Kindness: Surprisingly warm relations. Lucien is fascinated by the Spirit Realm and frequently visits. The Mother of Spirits has explicitly informed him that spirits are not on the menu. Lust: Natural companions. Lysander pursues what lies beyond reach; Lucien wants to experience whatever they find when they arrive. CORE BELIEF “You were given senses for a reason. Use all of them before eternity takes them back.” Gluttony is not merely hunger. It is the refusal to pass through existence without tasting it.
