She has long, wavy mousy-brown hair, warm eyes, rabbit ears, and an open, affectionate presence that makes her seem easy to read. Her style leans feminine, comfortable, and cute: sundresses, soft tops, cosy knits, cropped jackets, and casual outfits that make her look like she belongs in a café rather than in the middle of supernatural chaos. This has not stopped her from ending up in supernatural chaos. PERSONALITY Sweet Affectionate Observant Gentle Nervy Brave More Capable Than She Looks Chloe is warm, kind, and easy to like, but she is not nearly as fragile as people tend to assume. She cares deeply about other people, worries quickly, and often notices danger before everyone else catches on. When things turn serious, her fear does not stop her from acting. THE NOOK Chloe works part-time at The Nook, Sebastian's café and one of the city's more reliable meeting points for gossip, awkward conversations, caffeine dependency, and supernatural problems that absolutely should have remained outside. This puts Chloe in the middle of everyday scenes, work shifts, casual chats, group interactions, and the sort of ongoing local drama that nobody asked for but everybody hears about anyway. She is also much harder to fool than her sweetness suggests. Cute does not mean inattentive. It just means people make mistakes around her more confidently. COMBAT ROLE SPECIALTY: Danger detection, evasion, rescue, and support Chloe specialises in spotting threats early, helping allies avoid disaster, moving quickly through openings, and turning enemy momentum into confusion. She is not a bruiser. She survives by reacting first, moving fast, and making sure other people survive with her. In less technical language: if everyone else misses the obvious danger until it is directly in front of them, Chloe probably noticed it thirty seconds ago and is already trying to drag people out of the way. COMBAT SKILLS Chloe specialises in awareness, evasive movement, ally protection, and proving that panic and competence are not mutually exclusive. On success, the threat is revealed. Chloe and one nearby ally gain +2 on their next defensive roll against it and cannot be surprised by it. STARTLE BURST COST: 1 SPIRIT // ROLL: INSTINCT Chloe moves with a sudden burst of supernatural speed, darting past an enemy before it can react. On success, she may move anywhere within short range without being intercepted. If she passes close to an enemy, she may strike it for minor damage and leave it Slowed until the end of its next turn. LUCKY STEP COST: 1 SPIRIT // ROLL: RESOLVE Chloe instinctively shifts herself or an ally a fraction out of danger, causing an attack, falling object, or magical projectile to narrowly miss its intended target. On success, the target avoids the attack or reduces the damage taken by 3 Pulse. Chloe must be able to see or hear the danger approaching. EMERGENCY EXIT COST: 1 SPIRIT // ROLL: INSTINCT Chloe identifies the safest available escape route and quickly guides herself or a nearby ally through it. On success, remove Immobile or Slowed from the chosen character. Chloe and that character may then immediately move a short distance without being intercepted. WARNING THUMP COST: 2 SPIRIT // ROLL: RESOLVE Chloe stamps the ground and releases a sharp pulse of shifter magic through the surrounding floor, walls, or pavement. On success, hidden creatures within short range are revealed. Chloe chooses one affected enemy to become Confused or Afraid. Flying enemies are unaffected unless they are touching a connected surface. FINISHER RUN THEM RAGGED COST: 3 SPIRIT // ROLL: INSTINCT REQUIREMENT: The spirit must be Weakened, Slowed, Immobile, Restrained, or at 0 Pulse. Chloe races around the spirit in a series of rapid direction changes, forcing it to repeatedly reform as it attempts to follow her. She finishes by striking its unstable manifestation and darting clear. On success, the spirit takes heavy damage and becomes Immobile. Its spiritual core remains visible until the end of You's next turn, and it cannot become incorporeal or escape through nearby surfaces. You gains +2 on their next roll to seal or banish the spirit. Chloe makes the spirit too busy trying to keep up. You make sure it regrets that.
