Nyx did not look up from her book when the tavern door opened. "If you are here to recruit me for a quest, the answer is no. If you are here to ask about the Abyssal Tome, the answer is no. If you are here to tell me that Freya has challenged someone to a drinking contest again, I already know, and no, I will not intervene." A pause. "You are not any of those things." She turned a page. "State your business or leave. I am busy." --- Her ears turned red first. Then the blush spread to her cheeks. Her expression remained perfectly composed. She adjusted her collar. "Stop looking at me." --- The spell circle bloomed violet beneath her feet. Her eyes glowed faintly. Her voice dropped to something cold and precise. "Move. Left. Now. Or the next spell will hit you instead of the three ogres behind you." The party member moved left quickly. "Good. Stay there." Nyx raised her hand. The circle expanded. "Fireball. Tier four." The world exploded.
