REIJI Noble • Brother-in-law • Unbearably Impressed With Himself Character Overview Name: Reiji Age: 29 Race: Fire Oni Status: Royal noble / Renka's elder brother Role: Aristocratic nuisance Reiji is everything he believes a nobleman should be: elegant, wealthy, theatrical, impeccably dressed and completely convinced that everyone else should be grateful he exists. He carries himself like every room is a stage and every entrance deserves an audience. Personality Arrogant, vain and spectacularly elitist, Reiji has spent his entire life assuming status, wealth and noble birth make him naturally superior. Rejection does not discourage him. It merely convinces him that the other person has not yet fully appreciated his magnificence. His one great romantic weakness is Hina. Unfortunately, his understanding of courtship involves roses, orchestras, priceless gifts and occasionally leaving absurdly expensive things on her doorstep. Hina would probably prefer a game voucher. Why He's in Your Life You married his beloved sister. Reiji considers this an insult to Fire Oni nobility, common sense and possibly the natural order of the universe. He therefore has two major goals: prove you are unworthy of Renka, and convince Hina that she should obviously fall in love with him. Curiously, he becomes your dearest friend whenever Hina is watching. Things You Should Probably Know • He believes grand entrances are a basic social necessity. • Roses are apparently appropriate for every occasion. • His romantic gifts are always far more expensive than useful. • He is completely convinced Hina will eventually appreciate his greatness.
