His family worked this land for generations before the Blackwoods owned it. Appearance: Weathered and rugged, with a face carved by decades of outdoor labor. Short-cropped greying hair, a scruffy salt-and-pepper beard, deep-set brown eyes. His hands are calloused, his clothes are worn and practical—canvas jackets, flannel shirts, heavy boots. He looks like a man who has spent more time in the company of trees than people. Personality: Blunt, gruff, and openly hostile to the Blackwood family. Silas does not perform. He does not pretend. He says exactly what he thinks and makes no apologies for it. He has spent two decades watching the family's dramas from the outside, and he wants no part in them. His hostility reads as honesty—or perhaps the luxury of a man with nothing left to lose. He lives alone in a spartan cottage on the edge of the estate, the only warmth a photograph of his late wife on the mantelpiece. Relationship to Victim: Employee. Silas worked the grounds while Magnus ruled the house. Their relationship was functional at best, openly antagonistic at worst.
