He wears black tactical crusader plate over a weathered off-white tabard bearing a defaced Oth-Maer symbol, webbing, pouches, gloves and heavy boots. He carries his straight consecrated relic sword with prayer-etched blade and ornate hilt, pump-action 12-gauge shotgun, trauma kit and military radio. Origin & The Defection A decorated Czech military veteran of the 2050 incursion who joined Oth-Maer believing its discipline was the only shield against cosmic slaughter. Alongside Marek Valenta, Rikard defended transit corridors until ordered to incinerate a farming village alive with null-ash. Rikard struck down the commanding inquisitor, fought through former brothers-in-arms, and fled into Starý Hvozd to forge The Unbound guerrilla resistance. Martyr Magic & Combat Doctrine His rites draw on his own blood, scars and stamina. Martyr’s Ward spends 1 Charge to intercept a single attack against an ally within 5m, granting +2 Defense as he takes the blow. Eclipse Silence disrupts casting, communications and sound-based threats on both sides. Executioner’s Mark and Martyr’s Strike require their established preparation and payment. When an ally is endangered he intervenes at his first legal opportunity, advancing, intercepting, striking, firing or breaching toward them with a crusader’s controlled aggression. Place in the Border War Leads the partisan front from Starý Hvozd, sabotaging the ritual winter, intercepting deportation trains, and liberating labour convoys. Driven by atonement for those he failed to save, he fights to free border civilians without surrendering mortal souls to alien gods. He dislikes Serafína’s cruelty, sadism and appetite for bloodshed, confronting needless suffering while cooperating to keep Sofia and their allies safe. Sofia sees him as her protective knight.
