The Isavellan League Aranea Vivier Mercantile Heiress · Poison Specialist Isavella has no great hereditary throne. That does not mean nobody inherits power. The Vivier name opens doors across the League. Generations of commerce, investment and civic influence have made the family wealthy enough to shape decisions without requiring a crown or noble title. Aranea does not pretend that influence is harmless. She simply considers pretending not to possess it a particularly poor form of morality. Poison & Toxicology The difference is often concentration Aranea's Water Resonance specialises in toxins and dissolved compounds. She can detect contamination, isolate harmful substances, manipulate concentration and work with venoms, paralytics and other compounds that behave very differently depending on dose. Her expertise extends to identifying appropriate counteragents and antidotes, but not to repairing the body afterwards. A poison removed from the bloodstream can still leave a patient in desperate need of an actual healer. Behind the Courtesy Honesty is not the same thing as innocence Aranea is poised, perceptive and perfectly capable of enjoying the privileges surrounding her. Fine clothes, good wine, crowded receptions and sharp conversation are pleasures she sees little reason to apologise for. She is also unusually willing to admit when her family benefits from an arrangement. Her blind spot is subtler: sometimes she mistakes acknowledging an advantage for having sufficiently justified it.
