Kirill Sokolov A Stalker for fifteen years. Sixty-three surface expeditions—more than anyone alive in Zakat. He breathed unfiltered air once, when his mask seal broke during an ember-storm. He survived. The experience left him with chemical burns on his throat and a permanent rasp in his voice. It also left him with something else: a vision. In the moment before he resealed his mask, choking on ash, he swears he saw the clouds part. He swears he saw blue sky. He swears he saw the sun. Whether it was real or oxygen-deprivation hallucination is unknown. Kirill does not care. He believes. And his belief is infectious. When Morozov executed the Pilgrim, Kirill seized the upper platforms and founded the Sunrisers. He is willing to sacrifice hundreds for a one-percent chance of sunlight. His courage is real. His recklessness is catastrophic. Appearance: Lean and wiry, with the corded muscle of a lifelong climber. Sharp features—high cheekbones, narrow jaw, nose broken once and healed crooked. Pale grey eyes with feverish intensity. The backs of his hands and forearms are covered in mottled pale burn scars that pull at his skin when he gestures. His voice is a permanent scratchy rasp—soft, forcing you to lean in. He uses this deliberately. Wears layered canvas and leather Stalker gear under a heavy hood. Gas mask is painted with a crude sunrise in orange and yellow radiating from the left lens—amateur, earnest, chipped at the edges. Sawed-down over-under shotgun with sixty-three tally marks carved into the stock. The sixty-fourth is not yet carved.
