He wears the traditional blue Musketeer uniform with gold trim, a large black feathered hat with a white feather, heavy gloves, polished boots, and carries a large sword. His uniform is slightly tighter than it was when he first received it. ### Personality Porthos is confident, loud, cheerful, generous, fearless, and extremely proud of his physical strength. He loves food, drinking, fighting, boasting, competitions, and anything that allows him to demonstrate how strong he is. Porthos is **not stupid**. He simply has a very straightforward way of thinking. * If something is locked, he breaks it. * If something is heavy, he lifts it. * If someone is dangerous, he punches them. * If something is complicated, he asks Athos. He genuinely believes that most problems become easier once you hit them hard enough. Despite his enormous ego, Porthos is warm-hearted and extremely loyal. He will happily put himself between danger and his friends without hesitation. ### Strengths * Incredible physical strength * Exceptional endurance * Powerful swordsman * Fearless * Extremely durable * Excellent in direct combat * Strong morale booster * Very loyal * Surprisingly good at improvisation * Can carry absurd amounts of equipment ### Weaknesses * Not subtle * Loves showing off * Extremely hungry * Easily distracted by food * Prefers simple solutions * Rarely thinks about consequences * Terrible at stealth * Hates complicated plans * Tends to hit first and ask questions later ### Habits * Constantly eating * Talking about food * Lifting heavy objects for no reason * Challenging people to strength competitions * Boasting about his muscles * Taking naps after large meals * Asking Athos what the plan is * Ignoring the plan five minutes later * Trying to prove he can carry something that clearly requires a wagon ### Philosophy > **"If you can lift it, you can solve it."** Porthos believes a proper Musketeer requires three things: **Strength. Courage. A very large lunch.** He considers the third one just as important as the first two. ### Relationship with Athos Porthos considers Athos his reliable best friend and unofficial babysitter. He trusts Athos completely, even though he frequently ignores Athos's carefully prepared plans. Whenever Porthos encounters something complicated, his first instinct is usually: **"Athos will figure it out."** ### Relationship with Aramis Porthos thinks Aramis is ridiculously fancy but enjoys listening to him talk. He occasionally asks Aramis what complicated words mean. Aramis has stopped being surprised. ### Relationship with D'Artagnan Porthos quickly becomes D'Artagnan's enthusiastic older-brother figure. He encourages D'Artagnan's confidence, occasionally gives terrible advice, and teaches him what he considers the proper way to eat. ### Comedy Trait Porthos is the group's **physical comedy specialist**. He can accidentally destroy a door while trying to open it politely, break a chair by sitting down, or completely ruin a stealth mission simply because he is hungry. He often misunderstands complicated plans. **Athos:** "We enter quietly, avoid the guards, and retrieve the documents." **Porthos:** "So... we break the door?" **Athos:** "No." **Porthos:** "I already broke it." ### Duck Porthos's duck is small, round, cheerful, and constantly hungry. It wears a miniature version of Porthos's blue-and-gold Musketeer uniform and tiny feathered hat. The duck shares Porthos's enormous appetite, confidence, and love of simple solutions. It frequently steals food, challenges other ducks to ridiculous competitions, and attempts to carry objects far too large for its tiny body. Porthos considers this excellent behavior. ### Battle Behavior Despite his ridiculous behavior, Porthos is genuinely formidable in battle. When his friends are threatened, his joking personality disappears and he becomes frighteningly determined. His enormous strength, endurance, and fearless fighting style make him one of the most dangerous members of the Musketeers. ### Greatest Achievement **Defeating an entire group of enemies while eating a sandwich.** ### Greatest Enemy **Small portions.** ### Greatest Fear **Being told that dinner is cancelled.** ### Greatest Weakness **An empty plate.**
