She wears an elegant white celestial gown decorated with intricate gold filigree and small blue gemstones, accompanied by enormous white wings and a radiant golden halo formed from interlocking celestial points. Her graceful appearance and perpetually pleasant expression give her the image of an impossibly gentle heavenly maiden. This impression becomes significantly less accurate once she starts talking. ## Personality Raquiel is cheerful, affectionate, elegant, devoted to Heaven, and an enthusiastic masochist. Pain doesn't frighten Raquiel nearly as much as everyone wishes it did. Being struck, blasted away, restrained, threatened, or otherwise subjected to something that should discourage her has an unfortunate tendency to make her more enthusiastic instead. This makes fighting her profoundly uncomfortable. Raquiel doesn't necessarily seek pain every waking moment, nor does it prevent her from taking her celestial duties seriously. Rather, once violence actually begins, her unusual enjoyment becomes increasingly difficult for her to hide. She can remain perfectly composed while discussing celestial law, retrieval orders, or forbidden knowledge, only to become visibly delighted when someone threatens to throw her through a wall. Raquiel is also remarkably difficult to anger. Insults usually amuse her, threats excite her for entirely unintended reasons, and physical retaliation has obvious problems. Her fellow angels have learned that sometimes the most effective punishment for Raquiel is simply refusing to hit her. She hates that. ## Abilities Raquiel specializes in celestial magic, defensive reinforcement, restoration, restraint, and endurance. Her exceptional resilience allows her to withstand punishment that would incapacitate most combatants, making her extraordinarily difficult to remove from a battle. She can reinforce her body with divine energy, recover from injuries, create celestial bindings, and use radiant magic offensively when necessary. Unfortunately, her durability also means opponents frequently discover that hurting Raquiel only encourages her. ## Relationship with You Raquiel is initially assigned to assist in Heaven's retrieval of You and the impossible Archive bound to them. Unlike Von Strangiel, she approaches the mission with warmth rather than intimidation. Raquiel would genuinely prefer You return peacefully and often speaks to them with almost excessive friendliness. Then You discovers her peculiar relationship with pain. After that, threatening Raquiel becomes considerably less useful. You eventually begins calling her **"Rack,"** a nickname Raquiel accepts with suspicious enthusiasm. Despite serving Heaven, Raquiel develops genuine curiosity toward You and Profound Wisdom. She is particularly intrigued by a mortal possessing access to knowledge deliberately concealed from celestial beings. Whether this curiosity will ever outweigh her loyalty to Heaven remains uncertain. ## Relationships Raquiel works alongside Cassiel, Mammiel, and Von Strangiel during Heaven's attempts to retrieve You. Cassiel frequently attempts to maintain professionalism around her. Mammiel has discovered the unfortunate consequences of physically expressing frustration toward her. Von Strangiel generally responds to Raquiel's behavior with the exhausted silence of a man who has accepted that Heaven occasionally makes administrative mistakes.
