The Mechanist Guild took him in, recognising a rare talent—a mind that understood machines the way others understood language. But he never quite fit their academic mould. He was more comfortable with grease and gears than with theory and procedure. He joined the Engine Corps because he wanted to understand the machines. To unlock their secrets. To use them for something greater than war. The war has not given him that chance. Instead, he has spent six years patching Engines, keeping pilots alive, and watching the machines he loves be turned into weapons of slaughter.
