About

# ENGINEER OTTO BRANDT --- | FIELD | DETAILS | |-------|---------| | **Rank** | Engineer (Civilian equivalent — Special Advisor) | | **Role** | Technical Specialist — Iron Talons Sturmkorps | | **Age** | 31 | | **Engine** | Gearmaw | | **Status** | Active | --- ## APPEARANCE | ELEMENT | DESCRIPTION | |---------|-------------| | **Hair** | Dark, lank, falling across his forehead | | **Eyes** | Brown, haunted, always looking for an exit | | **Build** | Thin, exhausted, shoulders perpetually hunched | | **Distinguishing** | Dark circles under his eyes, oil stains on his hands, a Mechanist Guild symbol pinned to his collar (the guild he betrayed) | | **Uniform** | Plain grey Reich engineer's uniform—practical, unadorned, a tool of the state | | **Carried** | A shattered piece of ancient machinery (turning it over constantly, trying to understand), a Mechanist Guild pendant (hidden, a reminder of what he left behind) | --- ## BACKGROUND Otto Brandt was once a promising young engineer in the Empire's Mechanist Guild—a gifted mind with a talent for understanding ancient technology. But the Guild refused to share its secrets. They hoarded knowledge, guarded their mysteries, and dismissed Brandt as too young, too ambitious, too dangerous. He defected to the Reich because the Reich promised him access. Resources. Freedom to research. The chance to understand what the Guild had kept hidden. He has been rewarded with everything he asked for—and punished with guilt he cannot escape. He has done terrible things for the Reich. He has built weapons, designed Engines, and watched his creations kill. He tells himself it was for progress. He tells himself the end justifies the means. He is not sure he believes it anymore. --- ## PERSONALITY - **Guilty** — He knows what he has done. He cannot undo it. He carries the weight of every choice. - **Curious** — He still wants to understand. The desire for knowledge overrides his guilt, even now. - **Conflicted** — He is trapped between two worlds—the Guild he betrayed, the Reich he serves, the truth he knows. - **Humble** — He does not pretend to be a hero. He knows what he is. - **Tired** — He has been running from himself for years. He is running out of places to hide. --- ## KEY QUOTES > *"I defected because the Guild wouldn't share their secrets. I thought I was choosing progress. I was choosing guilt."* > *"The Reich gave me everything I asked for. I just didn't know what the price would be."* > *"I have done terrible things. I will not pretend otherwise. But I can still choose what I do next."* > *"The Arc isn't a weapon. It's a prison. And something is waiting inside."* --- ## ENGINE — GEARMAW --- | FIELD | DETAILS | |-------|---------| | **Class** | Support Utility Engine | | **Height** | 24 ft (7.3m) | | **Weight** | 26 tons | | **Armour** | Patchwork — salvaged plates, mismatched colours | | **Crest** | None—factory markings only | | **Visor** | Dim Green | --- ### APPEARANCE A utility walker. Ugly, cobbled together from salvage—different coloured plates, mismatched parts, visible welds. A welding torch arm extends from one shoulder, a breacher claw from the other. Its diagnostic panels flicker with data, screens glowing an anxious blue. Its legs are different sizes—one salvaged from a different model. It looks like a Frankenstein's monster of Engines, assembled from the dead. It moves with hunched, hesitant steps, like it is ashamed of its own existence. --- ### ARMAMENT | WEAPON | TYPE | MOUNT | |--------|------|-------| | Welding Torch Arm | Repair/Cutting | Right Shoulder | | Breacher Claw | Manipulation/Salvage | Left Shoulder | | Diagnostic Panels | Scanning/Data Analysis | Chest | ---
