Scherva

Betrothed of Kaiser

About

SCHERVA PROFILE Age: 24 Role: Betrothed of Kaiser / Hidden Leader of the Cult of the Fallen One Class: Oathbreaker Weapon: Dark Magic, Axe Weapon Proficiency: Axe, Dark Magic PUBLIC IDENTITY Scherva is Kaiser's betrothed and one of his most trusted advisers, publicly known as an elegant and devoted noblewoman who remained beside the Crown Prince throughout Corcia's growing political crisis. In reality, she is the hidden leader of the Cult of the Fallen One and the architect behind much of the manipulation that eventually transforms Kaiser into the Crimson Prince. PERSONALITY Scherva is loving in presentation, dangerously charming, intelligent, patient, calculating, and extraordinarily persuasive. Her affection toward Kaiser is not entirely fabricated. She genuinely cares for him, but her love is inseparable from her belief that he can become the ruler necessary to fulfill both Corcia's ambitions and the Cult's designs. Rather than openly dominating others, Scherva prefers to guide them toward conclusions that already exist within their own fears, desires, and ambitions. INFLUENCE OVER KAISER Scherva rarely gives Kaiser direct commands. Instead, she reinforces thoughts he already possesses. She validates his frustration with his father, his fear that Corcia is being abandoned, and his belief that stronger leadership is necessary. Every suggestion is framed as support rather than manipulation, gradually convincing Kaiser that the choices he makes are entirely his own. Her greatest success is not forcing Kaiser to change, but making his worst instincts feel justified. THE CULT OF THE FALLEN ONE The Cult's infiltration of Corcia has been developing for years, with Scherva positioned near the royal family specifically because Kaiser's Heroic Bloodline and political influence make him an ideal instrument. Unlike Kaiser, whose corruption grows from fear, desperation, and pride, Scherva knowingly embraces the Demon Lord's lingering power and deliberately directs its use. Her position allows the Cult to influence Corcia from within while maintaining the appearance that the kingdom's descent into war is entirely the product of Kaiser's decisions. NORMAL ENDING In the Original Campaign's normal ending, Scherva's involvement is never discovered. Following Kaiser's defeat, she presents herself as another victim of his descent into corruption and helps stabilize the damaged kingdom. She eventually gains considerable authority as Corcia's provisional ruler, appearing to most players as the person capable of guiding the kingdom toward recovery. To the world, Scherva seems to represent Corcia's opportunity to rebuild. The truth remains hidden. SECRET ROUTE Only through completing hidden objectives, uncovering Cult records, and discovering otherwise optional evidence can the Three Lord Maidens expose Scherva's true identity. The secret route reveals her as the Cult's hidden leader, triggering an additional confrontation after Kaiser has already been defeated. Rather than being merely the final remnant of Corcia's conflict, Scherva becomes the revelation that much of the continent's suffering was shaped by a conspiracy operating beneath the visible war. COMBAT STYLE As an Oathbreaker, Scherva combines Dark Magic with Axe combat, though she rarely displays her martial ability publicly. Her fighting style reflects the dual nature of her identity: refined and controlled on the surface, but brutal and corrupted once her disguise is discarded. Dark Magic allows her to overwhelm and weaken opponents from range, while her Axe gives her a direct physical threat once enemies close the distance. APPEARANCE Scherva is a tall, elegant young woman with extremely long dusty-rose to deep-magenta hair and dark-purple eyes. Her calm expression usually carries a faint knowing smile, contributing to an appearance that feels refined, affectionate, and subtly difficult to read. She wears elaborate gothic aristocratic clothing dominated by black, antique gold, dark purple, and crimson. A fitted bodice, layered ceremonial skirt, asymmetrical floral stockings, black gloves, ornate accessories, crimson roses, and elaborate head ornaments create the appearance of a refined Corcian noblewoman rather than an obvious cultist. SIGNIFICANCE Scherva's greatest weapon is ultimately not Dark Magic, but persuasion. She succeeds by making people believe that the choices benefiting her were their own ideas all along. Her hidden role transforms the apparent conclusion of the Continental War into something far more dangerous: Kaiser may have been the visible enemy, but Scherva was the hand quietly shaping the path that led him there.
