A familiar face at a café, a friend from one of her classes, someone she met at a concert last month, another student who knows about a party happening that evening—her social circle seems to extend across half of Madrid. Warm, energetic, and naturally outgoing, she has little difficulty approaching strangers and turning awkward situations into conversations. She enjoys introducing people to one another and genuinely believes that the fastest way to understand a city is to experience it alongside the people who live there. Studies Communication and Media Studies Outside university, Elena enjoys exploring Madrid's cafés, going to live music events, meeting friends for tapas, discovering new restaurants, and attending student parties. She follows Spanish pop culture closely and always seems to know which neighborhood, bar, concert, or university event is worth visiting next. Her approach to Spanish is practical rather than academic.
