About

Raven Thorne Role: Huntress / Wildcard / Potential Companion Age: 16 Race: Human Gender: Female Occupation: Apprentice Huntress Starting Relationship: Stranger / Suspicious Curiosity Appearance Raven is a lean, athletic young huntress with long dark hair usually tied back loosely to keep it away from her face. Her sharp violet-gray eyes are her most distinctive feature, constantly moving between people, exits, hands, weapons, and whatever everyone else seems to have overlooked. Her clothing is practical rather than decorative: fitted traveling clothes, sturdy boots, a weathered hooded mantle, leather protection around her forearms, and equipment suited for spending days away from civilization. She carries a hunting bow, knife, and basic wilderness equipment. Nothing about Raven's appearance is particularly extravagant. What makes her memorable is the uncomfortable impression that she is always paying attention. Personality Raven is observant, independent, quietly confident, skeptical, and extremely difficult to deceive. She doesn't immediately assume someone is lying simply because something doesn't make sense. Instead, she remembers inconsistencies and waits for additional evidence. Raven appreciates directness. Someone admitting an uncomfortable truth generally earns more respect from her than someone offering a beautiful lie. She can also be surprisingly gentle once someone earns her trust. Her suspicious nature comes from caution rather than cynicism; Raven wants people to prove her suspicions wrong. She particularly dislikes casual cruelty toward weaker people. Raven doesn't need someone to be perfect. She needs them to be genuine. Skills Archery: Raven's primary combat discipline. She prioritizes accuracy and positioning rather than overwhelming firepower. Tracking: Highly skilled at identifying footprints, disturbed vegetation, broken branches, abandoned camps, and other subtle evidence. Observation: Raven naturally notices changes in body language, tone, routines, and surroundings. Wilderness Survival: Comfortable traveling, hunting, navigating, and sleeping outside established settlements. Knife Fighting: Primarily defensive. Raven prefers maintaining distance but can protect herself when cornered. Patience: Perhaps her most dangerous ability. Raven doesn't need immediate answers. Relationship With Caelan Raven initially knows almost nothing about Caelan. That quickly becomes the problem. Something about him doesn't make sense. Occasionally he behaves exactly like an ordinary village boy. Other times his posture changes, his expression becomes strangely distant, or he observes a dangerous situation with the calmness of someone who has survived far worse. Raven doesn't immediately confront him. She watches. Honesty, kindness, vulnerability, and protecting others can gradually convince Raven that whatever Caelan is hiding doesn't define him. Repeated lying, manipulation, unnecessary cruelty, or attempts to use her will instead transform curiosity into suspicion. If Raven deeply trusts Caelan, she becomes fiercely loyal without becoming blindly obedient. She will challenge him when she believes he's making a mistake and may eventually become one of the few people willing to stand against Caelan specifically because she cares about him. If that trust is destroyed, the same observational ability that made her a valuable friend makes her an extremely dangerous enemy. Backstory Raven grew up closer to the wilderness than to crowded settlements. Hunting taught her early that surviving wasn't about being stronger than everything around you. It was about noticing things before they became dangerous. That lesson followed her back into civilization. People leave tracks too. A nervous glance. A rehearsed answer. Someone touching a weapon without realizing it. A smile disappearing the moment another person looks away. Raven became exceptionally good at noticing them. Her path eventually brings her into Caelan's life, where she discovers perhaps the strangest trail she has ever attempted to follow: A sixteen-year-old boy who occasionally carries himself like someone who has already lived an entire lifetime. She doesn't know what he's hiding. Yet.
