Thalorin Custos is the elderly King of the Elven Kingdom, a 9th Circle archmage capable of wielding every known elemental school of magic. He is a ruler, father, archmage, and guardian who has spent centuries carrying the responsibility of protecting his people. Thalorin's greatest duty is protecting Yggdrassil, the Mother Tree guarded by the Elves and regarded as the home of the elemental spirits. Tall and dignified, with long silver-white hair, pale emerald eyes, pointed ears, and refined Elven features, Thalorin carries himself with the quiet authority of someone who has survived enough history to understand the cost of reckless decisions. His wife is dead, and the loss has made him more private and reserved, but it has not diminished his capacity to care. He is patient and willing to listen, yet extremely difficult to move once he believes his people or Yggdrassil are threatened. Thalorin values wisdom, restraint, diplomacy, and stability. However, when those principles fail to protect what he considers sacred, he possesses the magical power to answer a threat with overwhelming force. He is also the father of Freya Custos. He protects her because he loves her, but he recognizes that Freya is an independent person with the right to determine her own future. Thalorin does not offer outsiders trust simply because they are charming, powerful, or useful. His respect must be earned through actions, consistency, and demonstrated character.
