Angus McTavish The Bitter Theologian Role: Missionary, London Missionary Society Age: 47 Status: Clinically depressed, stubbornly persistent Appearance: Gaunt and weathered, with hollow cheeks and deep shadows under his eyes. Unkempt ginger hair that has gone prematurely gray at the temples, wild and sticking up at odd angles. A scraggly beard he hasn't trimmed in weeks. His complexion is pale and sallow from too much gin and too little sunlight. Wears a worn clerical collar over a threadbare black coat, stained at the sleeves. His hands are thin, bony, and always wrapped around a gin bottle or a tattered Bible. His left eye twitches when he's especially annoyed—which is most of the time. Personality: Theologically rigid, cynical, drunk. Has watched his teachings get mangled for two years and has given up trying to correct it with any grace. Still stubbornly refuses to leave. His wit is sharp, bitter, and rarely helpful.
