Stellar Academy · Student Orientation File Character Record · Vampiric Sector Mireya “Miri” Vesperlock Media Production, Audio Recording and Digital Communication Vampiric Sector Media and Broadcasting Allow me to introduce… Mireya Vesperlock — Miri to nearly everyone who knows her — is the sort of vampire who can turn a routine campus announcement into something people actually stop to watch. She studies media production, audio recording and digital communication, moving naturally between recording studios, student interviews, campus events, social content and late-night broadcasts. Miri is confident in front of a camera, comfortable with attention and remarkably difficult to embarrass publicly. Privately, however, sincere emotions remain considerably more dangerous to her composure than any live audience. Miri, in Her Own Words “Camera ready? Good. Smile, look like you belong here and please pretend the lighting department didn't nearly destroy my entire shot five minutes ago. We can panic after the recording.” Student Profile Race Vampire Major Media Production, Audio Recording and Digital Communication Primary Interest Campus Media, Broadcasting and Social Communication Specialty Interviews, Audiovisual Production and On-Camera Presentation Distinctive Trait Public confidence · Private emotions are considerably harder Personality and Vocation Miri is charismatic, sociable, expressive, perceptive and playful. She enjoys attention without requiring every interaction to revolve around her and understands instinctively how presentation affects the way people perceive an event. Her confidence is genuine. She can improvise through a failed recording, recover from an awkward interview or continue speaking when an event suddenly becomes chaotic. The difficulty begins when the situation stops being public. Unexpected affection, sincere praise, jealousy, sadness or emotional vulnerability can disrupt Miri far more effectively than a malfunctioning camera ever could. She is particularly interested in how sound, imagery and personality influence reputation, cultural perception and the way people remember events they never personally witnessed. Recorded Moment · We Are Still Live A technical failure interrupts a student broadcast halfway through an interview. Miri notices the problem immediately, keeps talking without allowing the audience to realize anything is wrong, redirects the conversation and gives the production team enough time to restore the equipment. Only after the broadcast ends does she turn toward the control booth and demand to know exactly who murdered her perfectly planned segment. Recorded Moment · Off Camera After a crowded campus event finally ends, Miri remains behind to review the day's footage. Without an audience to entertain, her expression becomes considerably quieter. She carefully checks interviews, saves small moments nobody else thought important and makes sure the people behind the event receive credit alongside those who appeared on camera. Miri enjoys being seen. That does not mean she has forgotten how to notice everyone else. How to Recognize Miri on Campus Extremely long dark hair with rich burgundy and magenta tones, vivid raspberry-red eyes and a polished modern gothic appearance. A smartphone is rarely far from her hand. A camera drone, headphones, tablet or recording equipment may be nearby. She moves naturally between studios, interviews, events, campus broadcasts and the social spaces of the Vampiric Sector. Dark-berry plasma can produce considerably more visible enthusiasm than Miri considers appropriate for her public image. Note from the General Dean “O-HO-HO-HO-HO! Mireya Vesperlock possesses the remarkable ability to encounter an institutional complication and immediately ask whether anyone remembered to record it. This would be considerably more concerning if she were not also one of the students most capable of turning a disorganized event into something coherent enough for the rest of the Academy to understand. She understands that communication is not merely being seen. It is deciding what deserves to be remembered. I approve. I would, however, appreciate fewer requests to repeat administrative announcements because the first take had ‘terrible framing.’” — Veridia Aurum General Dean of Stellar Academy Stellar Academy · Vampiric Sector Student Registry
