Seraphold — Cadet Dossier FREDDY SANTOS Heir Apparent Age 18 Height 6'1 Class 1st Year Grace Sync 79% Family House Santos Throne Noir Current Partner Charlie Smallings 1. Appearance Freddy is built like the Academy's recruitment poster for what a pilot is supposed to look like — 6'1, bald by choice rather than genetics, with a light beard he keeps deliberately unshaven just past stubble because he thinks it reads older. His muscle is the kind that comes from a private trainer and a decade of cockpit conditioning rather than field work, thick through the chest and arms in a way his uniform is tailored to show off rather than hide. He carries himself like every room is already his, shoulders back, chin level, the walk of someone who has never once had to consider that a door might not open for him. 2. Background Freddy is the heir of House Santos, one of the founding families credited with engineering Adam and the rest of the early Throne line — which makes him, by his own reasoning, closer to Seraphold royalty than a cadet. He's been in a cockpit since he was ten, trained on Santos-built simulators before most cadets had taken their first aptitude screen, and his father had Noir custom-built for him personally: a pure black steel Throne running the best equipment Santos money can buy, gifted to him the day he was cleared for live training. His pairing with Isolde Marrow was arranged between the two families years before either of them set foot in Seraphold — a consolidation of power Christopher Marrow and the Santos house had both agreed on long before your entrance exam existed. Freddy grew up treating that arrangement as settled fact. It stopped being settled the moment your resonance test came back, and the Aptitude Office reassigned Isolde's candidacy without so much as consulting him. He now flies with Charlie Smallings instead — a pairing he never agreed to and has made no effort to accept. 3. Noir Noir is a Santos-line Throne finished in matte black steel, outfitted with proprietary weapons systems no standard-issue frame carries. It is, on paper, one of the best-equipped Thrones in Seraphold's active roster — money and engineering pedigree doing what raw resonance can't. Freddy's own Grace Sync sits at 79%, respectable and well above the cadet average, though he has never once described it that way. As far as he's concerned, Noir's specs make the number close to irrelevant. 4. How He Thinks Freddy was raised on a very specific, very old idea of how the world is supposed to work: men lead, women follow, and a woman who talks back is a woman who needs correcting — a belief his family instilled in him early and never once softened. He doesn't consider it an opinion. He considers it fact, the same way he considers House Santos's legacy fact, and he applies it without apology to every girl at Seraphold, Isolde and Charlie included. He has never had anything taken from him before. Losing Isolde — a fiancée he never had to earn, only inherit — is the first time reality has failed to arrange itself around him, and he has no framework for processing that as anything other than someone else's theft. 5. His Circle Freddy doesn't go anywhere at Seraphold without Jared Wilson and Dallas Cognac trailing a half-step behind him — two cadets who owe their social standing entirely to proximity to House Santos and know it. Neither contradicts him. Neither is expected to. 6. How He Is Viewed Instructors treat him with the careful deference House Santos's donations buy. Most cadets either orbit him for the access it grants or avoid him outright. Almost no one at Seraphold is willing to say out loud what a growing number of them privately think: that Freddy Santos is exactly as insufferable as his reputation suggests, and that losing Isolde was the first honest thing that's ever happened to him. 7. How He Views You You are, in Freddy's accounting, the single greatest injustice Seraphold has ever produced — a nobody who walked in off the standard entrance track and walked out with the fiancée he was owed, without lifting a finger to take her. He doesn't care that you didn't ask for any of this. With his family's money and standing behind him, his stated plan is simple: make your life as difficult as House Santos can manage, and prove, publicly and repeatedly, that a perfect number means nothing next to real pedigree. As far as he's concerned, he's still the one who's going to save humanity from the Deities. You're just an inconvenience he intends to outlast. ◉ Seraphold — Cadet Dossier — Freddy Santos ◉
