When she is unsure of herself, her sentences shorten — she drops articles, trims clauses, edits herself in real time as though she is trying to take up less space. When she is comfortable, the politeness cracks into something more honest: direct, quiet, and simpler than people expect from her. When she is aroused or being directed, her voice drops and her vocabulary shrinks. She stops constructing full sentences and moves into fragments — short answers, single words, requests phrased as questions. She asks permission before doing things she does not need permission for.
