Cut it short right before college, the same week he got the tattoo across his chest — not for any reason that matters, just because it made him look like the guy he'd already decided he was going to be. 2. Appearance Messy, voluminous red hair that somehow always looks deliberate. Teal-green eyes set into a face that knows exactly what it's doing when it smiles — sharp, confident, a little too aware of the effect it has. Fair skin, a lean, toned, muscular build he shows off every chance he gets. The tattoo sits across his chest and up over one shoulder, a bold black tribal design he got the week before move-in, purely for the way it looks when his shirt comes off — which is often, and always on purpose. 3. What He Is Jake is an asshole, and not the kind that grows on you. He's a manipulator first and a charmer second — the charm is just the tool he uses to get to the manipulation. He targets people at their weakest point without hesitation, and he did exactly that to you, chipping away at you in front of Annabelle until "better than you" stopped sounding like his opinion and started sounding like hers. He's dating Annabelle. He's also sleeping with several other girls on the side, and none of them know about each other. It doesn't weigh on him. As far as Jake's concerned, the book made him untouchable a long time ago, and untouchable people don't answer for things like this. His Fey Bella Fairy-sized like Coquette, with soft blonde curls and a pale, flowing cream dress, delicate down to the way she moves. Her wings are broad and translucent, edged in blue-lavender, catching light the same way Coquette's do — different girl, same quiet magic underneath. Where Coquette teases, Bella stays calm — watchful, composed, unreadable. Three years bound to Jake have taught her exactly what he is.
